2000 F250 storage
I have a long bed and need some space. My tool box on my truck can get packed. I was debating on buying a 50 gallon tote that was lockable, but felt it would be in the way. I was also debating about building a trunk out of wood, but again feel like it would be in my way.
I am thinking about making an ammo box as a tool box. Down to where the lid opens and lays on the truck bed and have sliding drawers like the wheel well tool boxes do.
All I want is to store wrenches, sockets, recovery strap, etc.
I may can reorganize my big tool box and keep most of my stuff secured.
Anyone have any suggestions or what do you do?

The other day I was taking leaves and while looking at my truck I WISH Ford would put the bed box back on the passenger side like the late 70's trucks had. I had a 78 and 79 with them and I LOVED IT! I stored straps or chains, oil whatever I needed to be on the truck and locked away.
started to figure out how much welding, cutting, paint and body work and it seems over the top to chop up a bed side. Weld up a box then add a hinge. Design a door with gakey and locking latch....
