48-52 Windshield Wiper Arm/Blade Size?
Can someone tell me what length the windshield arms and blades are supposed to be for a 48-52 F-1? I bought a new pair and the blade hits the windshield rubber on the passenger side and will not park flat at the bottom of the windshield. Either the arm or blade is about 1/2 inch too long. I measured 10 inches for the blade. Based on that a 9.5 inch blade would be perfect unless it's the arm that too long...

They make two different sizes one is slightly longer. Is it possible they gave you the wrong one?
Mine are called the "Boyonet Style" though. I installed new arms when I installed the wipers. There is a seperate listing at C&G for "Original Style" and "Wrist Style."
On my 51 I actually need the longer ones - 11" with the new arms. It might be they sold you the bayonet style and the are too long for your arms.
C&G only carries the Bayonet style blades - here's the listing and pic:

And here's the arms that go with them but they are the wrist type:

So there's lots of possible mixing. Look familiar at all?

Never considered myself obsessive compulsive...am I OC just because I want my wiper blades to lay flat on the bottom of the windshield?
Rant coming!...When you spend your hard earned money for nice polished stainless steel wipers that are supposed to fit, doggone it, they should! Okay, rant over!

That bent end that Ilya is talking about has the last inch of the arm bending down about 30 degrees from center. Like this one:
Also, my new arms have this different type of end that yours don't have. My arms are exactly 9 3/4 inches from the center of the mount to the end
And the blades for those are:
The catalog calls for 10" on trucks and 11" on cars.
That's how mine are. It would be interesting to compare the lengths of the two. If you want me to measure mine, let me know. The other interesting thing is that the blades while securely attached, do not fit tight laterally - iow they tend to flip flop a little on the arm. I wonder if this is another case of someone selling parts that are supposed to be universal for our trucks, but are really car parts or 53-56 blades?!?
If you don't find one that fits like the old ones used to, you could move the arm up one "click" to get the heel of the blade off the gasket.
