It hasn't rained in 4 hours, but those clouds are awfully low and damn near black!

Doesn't sound promising.

Did you find some trails to ride on your trip to the cariboo?

We found lots.

We are going to start out at the 108Mile ranch, there appears to be alot of trails there with good signage.

We might move to the Empire Valley Ranch in the Churn Creek protected area after that. There is a free, unserviced, campground there that has a corral for the horses.

After all this, we might head west of Williams Lake for a day, as my friend's friend has offered to take us for a ride.

Should be able to fill 9 days pretty easy at that rate

Sounds like it should be a good trip. Hopefully all the fires are under control now. Williams Lake was pretty smokey for a while.

We were out there last week and it was way better already. A few rain showers and most of the smoke was knocked down. Should be all clear by now. Plus the area up there is littered with ATF trails so you should be good to find a few.

Jason, west of wlms lk is were the Alexis creek fire is/was. Do you know if they have it out yet.
I usually use the drive bc web site for a good idea of smoke conditions, because it shows up on the web cams.

Good morning everyone. Sorry I am late, I stopped in at my uncle's shot to see how his nerve block went.

My understanding is that the fire is 100% contained and well on its way to being out. It is no longer on MOF's list of "Wildfires of Note", so it must be pretty safe
