Diagnose my dead F150 problem!
Ok, here's the situation, I was out playing in the blizzard and suddenly my truck just died on me. All electical died, everything that doesn't require the ignition be on, so headlights, power locks, etc. still worked, btu no ignition or radio, etc. It's a 1990 Ford F150 302 4x4 BTW. When I turned the key to start, it's dead, no gauges move, no indicator lights, just dead. I used my owny tool I had with me (car keys) to jump the starter solenoid and the engine turned over beautifully, but no ignition = no start. I had to give up and fork over the cash to have it towed to their shop (only place they'd go in the blizzard), but I'm looking for thoughts on this.
My first thought was ignition switch ... or a fusible link. Neither of which I really know anything about. Any thoughts or help here?
Thanks!

Look here - they don't specifically show how to replace that part, but it is shown in the exploded view of the steering column.
To make sure it's that, reach under the dash, remove the fuse panel cover so you can get to the column, find the ignition switch on the R side high under the pedal bracket, then find the rod that runs up the column to the lock cylinder, and try to push the rod back & forth. If it moves & the power comes on, dbrown is right. If it absolutely won't move no matter what you do, then it's probably the ignition switch, which is MUCH easier to replace.
