OBD1 not connecting - how to get a fuel injector out?
I have a 1995 Tioga motorhome (E350 chassis I assume). It was running a bit rough (not much really) during the last trip (after it was stored for 2 years!).
2 years ago, it had received new cap, rotor, plugs, wires (now maybe 2000 miles on it).
I took the rotor/cap off, which where a bit corroded, and cleaned them. Plugs looked fine. Measured the spark plug wires (fine).
Putting it back together, the car was REALLY running rough, even misfires.
I got an OBD1 reader (O'Reilley), which works fine on our 95 Contour. But it does NOT CONNECT at all to the PCM of the 7.5l. Any idea what might be causing it????
Did a 'cylinder drop', thought I found a bad plug (2nd from rear on driver side). Put a new one in (exact match). No change. change wires around, no change; changed plugs around, no change. Pulling the plug off that cylinder, no change. So it is running now on 7 cylinders. Have spark. Put Nodi light on the injector. Works.
Pulling the connector injector connector off from that cylinder, no change. Assume bad or dirty injector.
Measure Ohm on that injector and compared with reading of other injectors: same.
I now want to take this injector off (to clean it, to check it out, possibly replace it?), but its a bitch to reach there. Any tips how to remove it? I was able to get the rear passenger side fuel rail mount off. Should I take the EGR off to get to the rear driver side mount? With that loose, can I get the fuel rail off and the injector out? I don't see how I can get to the passenger and driver side front fuel rail mounts.
Any tips are much appreciated!
