oh yeh..
almost lost a load last year, some kids pulled the lock pin from the hitch bar pin. about 35 miles later as I turned into my sub, I heard this weird sound..
stopped and the hitch bar was almost out of the hitch.. the safety chains were all that was holding it in..!!!
the hitch bar is now locked in ALL THE TIME. and I never forget to hook up the safety chains.. (good thing they were crossed.. shortended them just enough to keep the bar in the hitch socket)..
