wont rev over 1500rpm Help!!
This is on my brothers 95. It has an AFE stage 2, superchips, and straight pipe. He changed his oil a fuel filter the other day. Next mornin he fired the truck up and it was smokin white like it does in the winter when its cold. But, the truck doesnt warm up and wont rev past 1500rpm and starts popin, missin, spittin, etc... Heres what we've done so far. Unloaded superchips, wont rev past 1400. Ran buzz test and all injectors fired. Got a p0603 code (KAM) cleared and hasnt returned. Tried to run a contabution test but it wont let us since we cant get the oil temp up. IT almost seems like a few injectors are runnin full open when the rpm starts to rise and there flooding the cylinders and not letting them fire, only reason i think that is cuz its poorin white smoke out(raw fuel). Also replace the fuel heater since it was bad, but didnt affect the symptoms. Any help gettin pointed in the right direction would be appreciated. Also, it seems to idle fine with no miss.

When you get a chance, remove the fuel filter and see if it smells like gas.
I've worked on these trucks with gas in the tanks and it can run OK for a while but the lower the tank gets the worse it will run (higher concentration of gasoline).
It probably isn't your problem, but it is sure worth making sure before you rule it out.

just changed the oil and its full. I was wondering if it could be the fuel pump. The bowl is stayin full, but i havent gotten a gauge on it yet, borrowing one from a buddy but he left it at work the other day. I dont think its gas because we've been in and outta the bowl and no one noticed it smellin like gas.

I know you changed the filter and oil, but is "sounds" like it could be low/old blood. I believe the 0603 code is thrown with install/remove the chip. The fuel pressure can be 30-90 PSI to run. I don't think it is a fuel pump related. Have you tried to unplug the ICP to see if it straightens out? You have the WTS light between off and crank?

ICP pressure was 570-580 psi at idle and 1250-1300 psi with the pedal on the floor. The IPR% was 14% at idle and 24% on the floor. This was in park, i havent driven it yet. The WTS light does come on and unplugging the ICP didnt do anything. If i need to drive it to get more accurate info, let me know.

15 PSI? It is most likely the pump. Strange symptoms for a pump indeed. Not to difficult to change. Do you have a "Cali" or a FED? I think all pumps are made by Carter and are all the same so the cheaper the better. (If I am wrong, someone please set me straight, please).
EDIT: never mind it is a 95 so it is not a Cali.
