code 565

alright guys i pulled codes from my 93 f250 5.8l w and i got code 565 now i looked it up and it told me the codes means "Canister purge circuit failure" can anyone elaborate on what that means or what i can do to fix it id greatly appreciate it. this site is great! thanks in advance Gerry

its the little round thing thats on the rubber tube between your canister and your throttle body.

yeah that was not the prob i replaced that and it did nothin anymore ideas??

the lines or mayb your not getting enough volts to run it right

X2 on a wiring problem. The CANP solenoid gets power when then EEC relay is energized. Pin 31 of the PCM is the return path. The PCM controls when the solenoid is energized. With the key on you should see battery power on the VPWR lead. That should be a solid red wire. You can use a DVM to measure the voltage with reference to ground (negative side of the battery). The wire leading to the PCM (Pin 31 ) should be a Gray/Yellow wire.

I am not familiar with the circuit to know if the CANP is always energized with the key on or if it is energized at certain times.
