35 pages later, and I feel like we're back to the beginning.
First, here's a pic from the end of Truck Nationals. We've gone "back to back" as the 97-03 Ford Full-Size Lifted/Street Class Champion, despite my feeling that someone else deserved it this year. You can read all about that in the PA Chapter's chat thread for the month - I won't bore you with details here.
But, why I feel we're back to the beginning...
I spit a spark plug out on the way home from Carlisle (fortunately only 8 miles from home so I just limped it in). Obviously, the immediate thing is to see if it just worked itself out or if the head is stripped and needs attention. That's for sometime over the next day or so. But, the bigger question is this:
Upgrade, or not upgrade?
I need to do a lot more research, but I'm seeing a lot of things out there. Performance improvement heads, Navigator 2V and 4V heads (4V not something I really want, I don't think), and Cobra heads (which are seemingly impossible to get). Pricing all over the map. I know it's something I plan to do in-house so the truck would have to go out of service for a while. Do I do it now, or wait? Lots of decisions to make.
Stopping power upgrades ARE coming this winter, for sure. I plan on replacing the rest of my brake lines with the stainless Inline Tube parts I bought earlier this year, as well as converting to rear wheel disc brakes. And, I've got the "go ahead" to make a visual change that I'm not going to completely tip my hand on, just yet.
Got one piece of unfinished business left, so I need to go all in to get it done, I think.

Thanks, every once in a while I get one right when it comes to pictures.
Heated garage, so I have that luxury at least. But, it's more about time for me because pulling heads on a mod motor can be a pain I hear. I think my biggest decision comes down to this: If the head is actually stripped - does it make more sense to short-term fix it THEN do the heads later, or just bite the bullet and park the truck and do the heads as the fix? Only me and my wallet can figure that out I suppose.
