Alright guys I've got the same issue, I own a 05 6.0L and did the STC update without any issues.. then the farm service truck comes down with symptoms of a leak. Wouldn't build past 229psi so I order parts and dive in. All is great until i dropped the damn 8mm stc bolt, I'm almost 100% certain its between the block and the rear. I was in the process of reinstalling the HPOP with the metal bracket that came with the STC fitting (got the wrong part from Ford boss said install it anyway) in place. I've been fishing for 2 days now yesterday with a magnet and today with a inspection camera I cant find the f@$kin thing.. ive even swept under the bottom gear with a coat hanger hoping to onock it out. Attached is a Google image with the places circled that I've been able to clear with out the bolt. Any help would be appreciated.
Also I would have dropped the trans and gone through the back but boss says that's a no go..

I ended up having to separate the transmission and motor and then take the fly wheel off. Then I had to loosen the rear cover. Once I got the bottom bolts out and loosened the top ones. I was able to pull on the bottom of the cover and when I did, the bolt fell out. After that, I have it the arc fitting on and cover on, then I put everything back on the back of the motor and attached the transmission.

Well boss says I cant drop transmission or oil pan because we dont have the facilities, I beg to argue that with a skid steer and this being a tractor service truck. But I'm not the boss so I installed new parts and and packaging this F450 to be towed to a mechanic for bolt locating services. Appreciate the quick reply.
