534 big block parts?
ok guys, my usual hang out spot is with the 73-79 forum, and i have a 78 F150 4x4 that i have, but my friend has a 76 firetruck with one of these giant big blocks in it, and he said i could have the motor out of it....i was thinking id slowly (like a 5 yr. build) build this motor into a real performance big block, tear it down, have the rotating assembly sent out to be balanced...HiPo parts in and out maybe, but here are my questions for ya...
1) Where can i get stock replacement parts for this motor?
2) Does anyone make performance parts for it? or even ways i can modify it to get some ponies?

Save your money and invest in a big cu in FE or Lima . There are no performance parts available for the 534, they are slow reving and heavy designed for pulling heavy loads at low RPM's. A stock rebuild on a 534 will cost you more than a performance engine build on an engine that will fit your rig without major mods.

534 Super Duty
That truck in the vidio doesn't have a 534 in it , it looks like a 460 based stroker. I know of no suppliers of speed equiptment for the Super Duty engines --534's. They were used in marine service and a few were turbo'ed. They are extremely heavy and do not take any high RPMS well
3200-3500 is about what they were governed at, any thing more than this caused catastrophic failures

534 parts
We have an old concrete truck from like 67 that has a 534 in it and I was thinking of pulling it and the 5 speed to put in something too. But, as stated, they are not a higher RPM motor and not a high horse motor. Plus they weigh a ton. We'll wind ours up every now and then hauling grain out of the bottoms, but that is max of about 4000 RPM. Max.
PAW or Northern Auto Parts used to have a master rebuild kit listed in their catalogs all the time, but it was to rebuild to stock. Not for sure if they might just have one around yet.
And yes, that was a 460 stroker motor in that Youtube truck.

How about being a little more specific on what you need. There are 100's of parts in one a these engines.
I'd rather not have to type the part numbers for all of them, then search for them, then list the sources who have them.

Better get a FORD 460 motor and STROKE it up to 534 cubic inches like the one in the PHOTO.
"534 Ford"
534 cui Ford. BASE ENGINE 460, this engine is used for Truck Pulling, it makes 835hp and 712 ftlbs torque. Has Blue Thunder/RCS CNC ported heads and Edelbrock/RCS CNC Intake and runs on Cam 2.

Can the 534 be DE-STROKED??? Maybe that way you could use parts from other FORD SUPER DUTY V8 engines.

I can only assume you are forgetful. Your question about these engines was asked and answered 8/21-8/23:

You are getting caught up in some romantic idea that a "534 big block" MUST be some kind of monstrous powerhouse. It isn't. It's an obsolete, inefficient truck engine with no performance support, excessive fuel consumption and weight.
If you want a big Ford with lots of power like the one in that link, get an engine like the one in that link--a 385 series 460 or larger engine.
If you want a bigger Ford and can hand-craft your own parts, you can make real power with an engine built to hold together under the most strenuous of conditions:
