my 2001 escape misfires only after it rains, any help please

 

Don't know if you can do this yourself or not, but you have a bad coil pack on one of your cylinders.

If you can determine which one it is by using an OBD reader, just swap it out for a new one.

Coil packs run about $90.

You didn't say if you have a 4 cyl. or 6 cyl. engine. makes a difference in getting at the spark plug and coil pack.

I had my mechanic change one about 5 months ago, another one went about 2 months after the first one. So far the other 4 original ones are still okay.

The older the vehicle gets the more likely these coil packs will go and they can go at any time.

if its the rear coil pack I would change the lower intake gaskets along with the upper intake gasket
