Mad Dog Headers are the route I like if you're on a budget:

$425- Popular Items

If no budget is involved...Doug Thorley is my preference:

HEADERS at Doug Thorley Headers dougthorleyheaders.com

Some information on Hedman headers can be found on this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/96...-for-me-2.html

Go with exhaust tubing that is at least 2.5 inches.

Sorry man...there's no way in hell I'd ever touch anything Hedman had to offer...except maybe the ceramic coated, but if you're dropping that kinda coin, you may as well spend the same money on a better quality set of headers. The flanges are some of the thinnest in the industry as is the tubing.

I'm just providing info and the post doesn't necessarily constitute an endorsement of Hedmans. I'm a believer in people making their own decisions based on full information and deciding for themselves what is best for them... I'm a Republican.

I think most all Headman headers have that "STUPID" ball and socket collector set up. If the Headman set for your truck has them, pass on them, you won't like them.

What don't you like about the ball and socket collector? I don't have them on my truck but I prefer them. I've had around 20 fox Mustangs and thats how they come factory. No gaskets needed and the pipes don't even need to be exactly lined up to seal. You can even bolt 2.25 exhaust to 2.50 exhaust with ball and socket flanges and they seal up without a problem. Out of all those cars, I modded a good portion of them and never had a leak or any problems for that matter. I dont have anything bad to say about them at all.
