Are they the 3/8" that join the outer to the inner at the top ?

5/16 x 24 -various lengths-3/4 to 1" and maybe longer where for the three on each side that go thru the frontfender/cowl--depending how many fender washers you decide to use. Thats what worked on a 55 anyway. Good luck!

Yes Ford must have cornered the market on 5/16-24 bolts in 53-56! Virtually the whole truck is put together with this size bolt in various lengths.
Mid Fifty sells bolt kits for various subassemblies if you need to replace a lot of them.

It makes it very easy when disassembling or assembling because nearly all the tools you need fit in your back pocket, lol. Like an offset 1/2-9/16 boxend wrench.

I know of the bolt kits, and seen them posted on E-pay also. I haven't bought a set yet, but are they labeled for their location?

When you buy the bolt kits from Midfifty they come packaged and labeled for what they're for, in fact pretty much everything from Midfifty comes that way. They generally send tootsie rolls with each order but for some reason my last order didn't have any.
