2004 F150 4x4 axle ratio

My truck has a code of B6 on the door plate and the tag on the differential cover reads V953f 739754B13. Can anyone tell me, positively, what the gear ratio and towing capacity is?

Then you should have the 3.73 gears. I don't think they even put the 3.53's in the 5.4's. The next question is do you have a tranny cooler or any extra fans in the engine compartment?

You have 3.73 limited slip and the 3.55 is available on a truck with a 5.4.

Oh well this messes up my course of thinking then. OK then what trim package do you have on your truck? (Fx4, Lariat, XLT)

As cb_13 said, I'm sure it has the 3.73 limited slip. That should put towing capacity at around 9,200 lbs....plenty enough to tow a 30ft. travel trailer. Thanks for all the help.

Well yeah most likely it can and most likely you do have the 3.73's but you asked for someone to be positive.

I'm certainly still open to a anyone who can say, for sure, what the gear ratio is. The only info I haven't already given is that the truck is a Lariat, with the tow package.

The code B6 means you do in fact have a 3.73 limited slip. On a ford any number letter combination means limited slip two numbers are open diff. 2 or B generally refers to 9.75 rear axle 1 and H for 8.8. 9 for 3.55 6 for 3.73 and 5 for 4.10. My truck has a B6 code and the axle tag reads 3L73 so i know its true on mine. This info is a lil dated but to the best of my knowledge it is still accurate.

CB is correct. I just purchased an 08 Supercrew yesterday and did a lot of research before hand because I will be using the truck for towing. The last page of this doc lists the axle codes and the gear ratios.
