98 f150 bad idle when in drive

With the engine at hot idle, is the RPM about 650 to 675? Idle is about 850 in P, 650 in gear
Remove the IAC connector, does the Idle drop low? Yes, about 650. I did this when the engine was cold and it stalled on me.
Power down the PCM about 5 min. then reconnect. Is thsi done by simply diconnecting the battery cable or is there another way?
I checked the plugs last night and found that many were saturated with oil so I changed them. The engine is not idling as rough as it was but now the check engine light is on. I do not have a code scanner and the parts store is closed today. In the past I have used a jumper wire to get the codes but cant remember what pins to jump. Does anyone know what the correct pins are?

Well after going over what the problem could be in my head a hundred times I started back with the basics. After changing the plugs, it didn't make much sense to me why it would run better but not quite right yet. So I started checking to make sure everything was snug, plug wires, electrical connectors etc. when low and behold I found a loose connector on the #7 cylinder injector. I pressed it back on and the idle smoothed out. It may have been a combination of fouled plugs and the loose injector connection but that is just a guess at best. Moral of the story, start simple and be thorough. I wasted my whole weekend trying to figure this out when it could have been fixed in a couple hours if I had checked my injectors. Thanks for letting my piggyback on your thread darkmage1991 and hopefully my situation helps you out.
