Liftin 2wd by swappin 1 ton fron suspension??

Hey, names Brandon, I'm new to the forum. I've been searchin and couldnt not find anythin on it but I just traded a jimmy for a 1979 f100 302 2wd longbed and it came in the bed of the truck a "lift kit" the guy said. The coils are bigger than mine on the truck and heavier than heck. There is also the brackets and everything to drop down the stock ttb. It even came with a drop pitman arm. He was told it was parts off a 1 ton truck. Would this work and give some lift on the front?? it seems like it may. I kno they say it wont be good to do just lift coils but with drop down brackets with it would it help align it? Thanks for any info.

It sounds like somebody tried to piece together a lot of old parts to make a lift. I am unaware of anybody who makes drop pivot brackets for 79 and older ford 2wds so what you have probably wont bolt up to your frame. There are a lot of threads on here including one that I posted a lot on about lifting 79 and older 2wd fords. You really have 3 choices when it comes to lifting these trucks. 1. add coil spacers or taller springs and have the I beams bent to align it because the tires will lean outward from the truck. you can go about 3 inches doing this and retain the stock steering and brackets. 2. Drop the radius arm brackets, I beam pivot brackets and put taller springs in it. This will all have to be custom built and fabbed because there isnt anybody who makes a kit like this. Search this forum and you will find people who have done it though. 3. I did this option and that was to flip my I beams. I have a thread on here and there are pics of both mine and my friends truck done this way. I got 6.5 inches of lift with 100% factory ford parts. So first make up your mind how much lift you want and then decide what route you want to go. You might throw the coils that came in the back of your truck in your front end and then take it to a shop that can bend I beams and see if they can align it. I know autofab bends I beams for a 4 inch lift but they also use longer radius arms too.
