That thread was brought up last week here. I think there was 1 person who could identify with it, the rest of us are kinda waiting for it to happen or just more aware.

Thanks for the update though. I can say that I do have to wait for the transmission to pick the right gear now and then, mostly going 55 mph, then slowing down for a right hand turn, rolling through the turn, then when I get back on the throttle it takes just a moment for the tranny to figure out just how quickly you want to get going. Responds better when I gun it that when I just make a lazy return to speed. This can be a little irritating because with this new engine most of us are trying to put-put around to see the MPG's stay up.

For some reason my cruise control did not work the other day, and when I tried to re-engage it I held my finger on the "+/Set" button. It never set and did not accel. What it did do was downshift. I assume the command to downshift into a passing gear was getting to the TCM but no throttle command was making its way. We ate dinner and on the way home everything was back to normal. Go figure.

Almost sounds like the communication bus is overloaded or full of errors.

That thread you referenced also had some posts about production and sales holds being put on the 2011 Super Duties. That turned out to be totally false and the posts there mysteriously disappeared with no explanation.

The thought had crossed my mind. Before I called foul a couple of weeks ago about the dieselstop thread I went back to make sure the posts were there. That is when I found them gone with no mention of why. Mark Kovalski posted there about the same time. After reading what he wrote, I quit looking at the thread. His answers made a lot of sense and his qualifications back him up.

I traded a 2007 Toyota Tundra with a 6 speed tranny, different animal I know, BUT... it acted very similar to the way my 2011 does. They kind of feel mushy when you first start the truck and sometimes get confused when you slow down and the then get back on it.

I think everything is fine, just what happens when the truck tries to electronically do all the thinking.

My 2009 F250 gas actually is the smoothest of the trucks I have driven.

Also, they feel funny when there cold because the computers try to run the engine at higher RPMS to warm the truck up faster for emissions reasons from what I've heard.

When Mark Kovalski commented on the sporadic shift complaints, he explained the difference between development programming versus production programming. I will not try to quote him. If you are interested, and the thread is still there, his post was a good read.

Ricatic

Could you please post a link. Searching for Mark Kovalski at the Diesel Stop doesn't seem to bring up the post to which you are referring. Thanks.
