My 94 F350 does not have a tachometer in the dash. I took a instrument cluster from a 93 F150 that has a tach. I swapped them. Is the tachometer incorrect because the cluster ( gauge panel ) came out of a 6 cylinder and I put in truck that has V8?

 

It should work just fine the only trucks that had diff tachs were the PSD

 

It works. All the guages and lights work. I was just thinking that the tach might not be accurate because it is setup for 6 cylinder. You know the aftermarket tachs have a switch on them to set them for a 4, 6 and 8 cylinder. I was wondering if these in dash tachs have a switch on them to set them up for the correct engine?

 

All gas tachometer gauge clusters interchange. I'm running a tach cluster from a truck with a 302 in my 300 equipped truck and, if my math is good, it reads correct rpm for mph.
