I am finally starting!

Well I am finally starting. I bought my 56 F100 31 years ago. I drove it as my main mode of transportation for about 6 years. When I changed jobs and driving the truck that far on a daily basis was not practical I used it on the weekends to haul stuff. About 10 years ago, the wiring harness fried and I parked it. I have been trying to get it moved up on the priority list so I can start the build process for about 5 years now. Well, last weekend I cleared out enough space on the side of the house that I can now start dismantling the truck. It has been a long road just getting to the starting line, but I am excited!

Glad to hear it, Scott. Maybe soon we can park together at a cruise night or show.

Let me know what I can do to help.

I am right there with ya. I stopped working on my truck when I was 14. 19 years later I am now getting to it. Actually, this past weekend I started working on a donor 55, which I will swap parts from the 53 onto.

In any case, its quite the hurdle to overcome when you have let a project sit so long. I am there with ya.

Thanks Randy, I am sure I will be coming to you and other FTE and PUL members for help on this one.

Steve, I have been planning this build for quite some time, but what I have settled with is a Mustang II IFS with the tubular A-arms and an IRS out of a 90 Supercoupe. I want it to sit low. I have both suspension systems sitting there waiting to be installed. I would eventually like to install the engine and trans out of a Lincoln Mark VIII (4.6 DOHV 32 valve), but I may live with the 289 and C4 that are currently in the truck for a while. I will have to wait and see what funds become available.

I have a Mark VIII, the engine in it is very sweet, be a great donor. They are big though, shouldn't be a problem with the amount of room under the hood however.
