I might be picking up another truck...

Going on a 4 hour tour... (a 4 hour tour... ) tomorrow to look at a 55 F100. The frame has been blasted and painted, the brakes are rebuilt, all new hard and soft lines, steering box rebuilt, new (I think) springs, and he said he thinks the rear was rebuilt as well.
The body looks a little thrashed, but he's asking $900. So, if I can talk him down to a more reasonable price, I'll have a great F100 frame to swap under my 56, a bed, and I'll put the 55 up on my 500 frame and sell that.
Wish me luck!

If it starts to rain, turn around and come home.

So... is this Ford stuff a disease or something?... cause I just went from two Chevys for the last 15 years... to now I have 2 Fords within the last couple weeks!

The 55 is not in that bad of shape, but it was taken all apart.. I have a bed full of parts that came with it. My plan is to swap my 56 to the 55 F100 frame, and put the 55 cab on the F500 frame and sell it off that way. Hopefully I can recoup some of my costs that way... which would make my wife very happy.

The nice part of the 55 was the frame. As advertised, EVERYTHING on the frame is brand new. I think it was epoxy primed, but not topcoated. So I'll pick up some semi gloss and the frame will be better than.... well, the rest of the fleet!
The bed is a little rougher than I hoped, but I think I can make it work. I didn't realize it had the spare tire hump... I'll have to decide if I retain that, find a new fender... whatever.

Here's a little tease of two very upset and now neglected Chevys...

By the way... the rear wheels are chrome reverse wheels, with a Chevy and Ford pattern. I wish the fronts matched, cause those are awesome!

I could finally notice the differences between the F500 fenders and the F100 fenders. Tell you all the truth... I'm at a loss as to which I'd prefer!... I guess I'll retain the F500 fenders when I move the cab to the F100 frame and see how a street size tire looks in the bigger wheel well...
