Sound, drone, ect... set aside... Wanted to get some feedback on strictly how reliable a Flowmaster muffler and tip would be compared to the competition? Number of years it should last? Any rust issues or restriction issues? Thanks...
I have a magnaflow muffler and tip on my truck but I did look into the flowmaster. The guy at my local muffler shop told me that even though the flowmaster only has a 1 year warranty on it he has never seen one come back and that the quality of the flowmaster was just as good as the magnaflow it just comes down to the sound you want.
Thanks for the feedback... Any suggestions on Series? After doing some research have seen allot of people recommend the 40 series. Is this the best one? Would it produce enough sound if only replacing the muffler and tip?
I have the flowmaster 40 series. If you like alot of noise in the cab, then point the tips out the sides or behind the tires. Straight out the back still sounds good inside but doesnt blast you.
I have a Super40 with dual turndowns...I've been all over TX beaches and near the coast quite a bit...the only place i saw rust develop was at the welds...I've had it installed since Jan05/100k and still have no problems...I used high temp paint to cover the welds after I had the welds sandblasted...since then no rust!!!
Flows have a lot of metal in them. If I lived in Saltville, I would prob try some high heat paint on them before install. KOTO is right about tip placement. I had them coming out behind the tires, but too loud and "poppy". Ran them both out the back, better sound, and less noise. I guess I am outrunning the vibes.
