94 Front springs

I am new to the forum, just picked up a 1994 F150 XLT 4x4 with high miles on the cheap. My first problem is with the front springs. The alignment shop said they are having a tough time getting it in spec due to worn springs. I have checked my local parts stores, and cannot get the proper springs for the truck. It is a regular cab, short box, 5.8L, with air, & dual shocks (dual shocks appears to be the problem). Is there actually a difference between all of these submodels? I would like to retain the dual shocks, can I use springs for the single shock set up? Any info would be appreciated.

In a nutshell...yes, you can use springs from the single-shock setup on the dual-shock machine. None of us on the board (that I know of) have been able to figure out why there's a difference. It's possible that Ford had different spring rates depending on how many shocks were on the front; that's just speculation.

A lot of us have "upgraded" to aftermarket F-250/350 front springs...if those will fit, then a single-shock 150 spring will DEFINITELY fit.
