Hi Y'all, Newbee here. I just bounght a 99 Superduty but the build date shows 6 / 98? Does this sound right? I thought the model years changed in August? 5.4L, Trying to check out for New Oxygen Sensors and they are listing differently for the 1998 and 99 models? Thanks Garry

Welcome to FTE! That build date sounds correct. The Super Duty line started up in '98 and the trucks were produced as '99 models. They were introduced early since the previous generation trucks only technically went up through model year '97.
With regard to your O2 sensor, in '98, Ford produced the Super Duty with the 5.4 and the light-duty F-250 with the 5.4. The light-duty F-250 was the same body style as the F-150 but it had seven lug steel wheels, heavier axles, and heavier suspension. So, If you're looking at an O2 sensor for a '98 F-250, it will be for the light-duty truck and if you're looking at an O2 sensor for a '99, it should be for the Super Duty. The light duty F-250 switched over and was renamed the F-150 7700 (due to the 7700 pound GVWR) in '99.
