Yeah, I've had it on the calendar and have thought about going to watch the show. But I'm not sure it's worth a lost day and the gas. The Marmon-Herrington F-1 is a great looking truck, and at minimum I'll want to see what it sells for in this economy. The only thing I'd like to bid on is the '52 showroom display. No doubt it will go for stupid money and I'll just be p.o.'d that I got outbid. Stu

Didn't you hear? The recession is over! LOL

A '41 panel with a 4-banger -- what would that be about? Some gorgeous iron there, I'd be after the shoebox Fords.

Just don't get outbid, Stu. Then you won't be p.o.'d.

I posted about this auction a few months ago when it was announced and received a response. The collection belongs to the grandfather of our very own, Jordan, fifty_two f1.

That's why gripe as we do, ebay still is the best way to buy. When you factor in travel expense going to the auction, the cost of such an item would double or triple. But I think this auction company does have an on-line bid option. So maybe that's the way to handle it. Stu

They do, but you'll still need to pick it up or have it shipped. Check the buyer's premium for online bidding. It might be different than in-person.

Yeah, commission is generally more. And I'm sure they'd add a "handling/packing" fee to shipping. But still less than gas. Stu

That's my weekend off and it's not too far away so I've been planning to head up there to watch the sale and hang out with Jordan. It will all probably be way too rich for my blood, but I did just sell the Harley........ I wonder if I should take a trailer?!? At any rate, if there is a particular item that somebody is interested in the sale price of, I'll make sure that I jot it down.

Hey Joe, bring the trailer!! you never know what you might buy. Besides if you do not bring a trailer then you will certainly buy something. If you bring it most likely you wont! Im slowly learning "murphey's law" It will tear me up to see all that go since i grew up around it, but he is keeping 11. He also said once the auction is over he is going to start 3 projects at once! Nothing slows him down. I asked him what the projects are and he said a 55 ford country sedan wagon, 48 f1, and a 62 unibody that will have a 460. He will have all that done in the time that i get mine done!!

In 1941 ford offered the 9n engine in the pickups for fuel economy. They are very rare. He has a total of 4 he is selling. A sedan delivery, the panel, the pickup, and a project pickup. Also if you guys want some info, let me know ill do my best to answer you.

It'd be nice to know what the 48-52 trucks go for, especially the MH.

I say bring the trailer and cash. I would if it were me.

The MH came from Oregon, and it was used in the forestry service. It does have a mercury 4 inch crank and a racing cam. It also has aluminum heads and dual carbs. It sounds real mean, and has a lot of power. The 4x4 does function properly.
