can't help you with the free part...there is a truck stop near portsmouth trailer supply in chesapeake where we paid $7 to weight trauck and trailer. there is a scale at charlie's on shore drive but not sure if they will let you weigh something smaller than a big rig lol

You could give the dump out in Suffolk a shot, don't know if it would work. Next time you need to dump something drive out there, they weigh you before you go in. Just ask the guy at the window what your weight is. Obviously subtract yourself and whatever you think the load weighs.
I think the $7 is very reasonable though, probably the easiest way.

I heard that, I don't know how many times someones asked me where a place is and I can not think of the road name or the exact directions. But I could definitely drive them right to it.
