If you are going with a 3 body lift, I would be tempted to make, or simply modify the original mounting straps to cheat the tank up under the body a couple of more inches. I cant honestly think of any problem with that and I think it would help alleviate some of the filler tube headaches as well.

Does spectra offer the correct ohm sending unit for the orginal guage? If so what Ohms did you order for your tank that works ,if you plan on using the orginal guage.

I'm told the bronco sender works and is deeper, or, you can keep your stock one, and with the relocation brackets it will just read "full" until youre down to half a tank.

Let me know what you guys think. I have a 3 inch body lift for it and I planto do at least a 6" spring lift.

I wish these photos were still up.....

Anyone have a link or idea of where to find the larger tank? I'm looking to put a flatbed on soon and would love to get the tank in first.

I tried the Bronco 33 gallon sending unit on my 38 gallon first. I was able to bend the tube enough to reach the bottom properly, so it was a great fit. Problem, as I found out later, is that the nipple end that the fuel line attaches to is bent 90 degrees, while the stock 19 gallon sender is about 22.5 degrees. I did not realize this when I reinstalled. Instead of routing the line over the crossmember, I had to go down between the sharp edge of the tank and the crossmember. This in short time cut through the fuel line. It didn't look right to me at the time, but figured I was crazy. Here is the stock 19 gallon sender:

And here is the 33 gallon Bronco:

Now, what I did worked great. Since the 33 gallon unit was a near perfect fit, I cut the barb tube off just before the elbow, and managed to get a small flare on the end to bite in to the hose. I hoped a flare tool would work, but the vice did not fit. I manually bent it out a bit. End result is great. I would definitely to this route again as opposed to trying to braze an extension on my stock sender, etc. This is a solid, one piece tube and the fuel gauge is pretty accurate.
