this one is for 2.5" but its got deep groove.... think thats more of what i should get... just dont think it will get tight enough.

I think option two looks better to me.

The groove looks to wide in the first one.

yep. it clamps til both sides touch and the clamp still spins and the elbow and downpipe dont fit snug enough. im thinking of trying to maybe make a gasket or something. i used to have sheet of lead. it would have made a perfect gasket but i ditched it. i knew i should have kept it.... damn

thats what always happens you keep something for a long time thinkin you are gonna use it... then you dont and through it away and next day shoulda kept it... yeah mine does the same thing and i also have of black depositsof smoke on the firewall from where i guess its leakin out from between the where the down pipe meets the outlet

ya, its the dumps. and i just ran out of welding wire..... 1 hr drive to get more so im gonna wait til another day. screw it lol. im spraying my manifolds, up pipe and cross pipe with 2000 degree ceramic paint and wrapping the cross pipe with header wrap. got new gaskets too. want this to be the last time ive gotta take this stuff off until i get that damn 6.9l built.

did you pull the manifolds to pain or did you just spray it in there and hope for the best coverage? also how rusted "stuck" were your bolts that bolt the cross pipe and up pipe?

Soak the header wrap in ceramic paint and wrap while wet ...

i pulled everything off to spray it. figured i wanted to replace all the gaskets too. i sprayed the cross pipe in ceramic paint, wrapped it then sprayed it heavy with the paint. got about 5 coats on everything.
