fuse box diagram

hey i went to twist my light switch last night because i figured it would turn on my interior light wellll when i did my dash lights and radio lights went off and the only lihghts i have now are really really faint ones on my milaege counters and even in the midle of the night you could hardly see them my blinker lights and brights light still work fine though can anyone help me i really need to get it done asap because i do most of my driving at night please help

Sounds like another fried headlight switch. You will probably need to replace it and I would suggest doing the relay mod.

not a ton, just replace the switch and wire in a couple relays. LMC truck makes a pretty nice kit. It cost a little more but takes the guess work out of it.

i got to lookking and that harness looks like it is for headlights my headlights work fine its my dash lights and radio lights that dont work

Exactly.

The head lights draw enough amperage through the small wires Ford used that is causes the switch and connector to get hot.

That in turn melts the bottom of the switch which also is generating heat in the dash light dimmer rheostat.

So if you get the head light load off of the switch, much less heat generated, so the switch will last forever.

If you tow a trailer or have added more marker lights to your truck, that load is also added to the headlight load.

When I did my relay mod, I also used a relay for the marker/parking lights so the trailers I pull don't overheat the switch either.
