2001 F350 shaking (need some help)
My 2001 F350 Power stroke diesel has developed a shaking between 45-60mph (witch is related to rpms i guess). The shaking is directly related to how fast i accelerate. i can power through it and it smooths out but if i gradually speed up it shakes. I can let off and it stops shaking immediately. There is no steering problems. The truck may not be idling right this is my first diesel so im not sure. The truck has been tuned but it was prier to me buying it. What is have read so far points to tire balance or possibly injector problem. Is there any way to check the injectors at an auto parts store or a way i can check it with a meter or by sight. Any suggestions on what it is and how to fix it would be great. Im a do it yourself-er.
Thanks for your time!

shaking like a fuel problem?
Does the shaking seem like a fuel problem? I am having the same problem. At around 1500 RPM my F350 starts to stutter and hesitate. I have replaced the fuel injectors 3 times and it hasn't fixed the problem.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it as I am having the same problem

Could it be some thing wrong with the turbo. Its like its not getting what the engine needs fuel/air. But i dont think it is misfiring. It is kinda like when a boat is cavitating.
brnab1 did it matter what speed or rpms for the shaking to start?
JJbracke how did you determine the fuel injectors where bad?
Thanks

Not a good idea at all. Our injectors fire off of high pressure oil and additives and to thin of an oil can damage them. Most additives reduce the shear of the oil as it passes through the HPOP.
