Mobil 1 Oil Filter?

OK...explain this
Before I did the 3G alternator swap, hot, in gear at idle, I had 10-12 psi o. pressure with a manual gauge.
After the swap, I have 17-18 psi, hot, in gear at idle!
The gauge is AutoMeter, with only a light attached. I know there should be no relation. Yet ....
Was the MSD hurting for spark before?

I haven't used it yet but I've got one to use with the next oil change. I made the mistake when I did my last oil change of not running engine cleaner through it like I wanted. I got excited since my 6 year old actually took interest and wanted to help so I got right under there and helped him help me drain the oil. Only then did I realize I hadn't run the cleaner through it like I planned so, instead of replacing the Dino with the Mobil 1, I just went back to the store and bought a few qts of proper weight Pennzoil and filled it back up. After another couple thousand miles I'll replace it again only this time I'll run the cleaner and then replace everything with M1 synthetic and also use the new M1 filter.
