Good plan. The new pump should put out at least 65psi at idle so no need to shim

Does anyone have pictures or a link on how to remove the fuel filter. I have the new pump and picked 180 psi hose rated for B100. I want to replace the hose that goes from pump under the fuel filter. I am sure I can figure it out but more informations is good

That's a hpop install thread, but it tells you how to remove the fuel filter housing.

Thanks. I have changed out the fuel pump. Not too bad except for the banjo bolt.

The truck now runs fine. Fuel pressure at idle is 55 psi. Going down the road with my foot in it the pressure is 50. When I let off the pressure goes up to 60.

Should I shim the FPR to raise the pressure some and why?

55psi is within spec for it. You could do the FPR shim if you wanted to, it would put it around 70 or 75psi which would be good. Just don't have it higher than 80psi at idle.

The higher fuel pressure will let it idle better and run a little better. But like I said, 55psi is within specs.
