There have been somewhat frequent wire chaffing issues. Have you checked the wiring?
The red bold highlight would be the most likely scenario. I can count on my hands how many glow plugs I've ever had to replace on a 6.0L engine out of thousands that I've wrenched on so far, namely ONE.
But to diagnose that code requires simply checking glow plug #6 harness (glow plug end) resistance to ground. You should see between 0.5 to 2.0 ohms. If this checks out good, check for continuity between the GPCM and cylinder #6 glow plug circuit on the main engine harness itself. And if that checks out good, replace the GPCM.
I wouldnt have even known had I not gotten the sct. Where would be the most obvious place to start looking for the chafe to eliminate it first? Would only one code mean only one is not working properly? Can I do any damage?

When i took mine apart for some injector work i found that the wire was starting to chaf on the harness about 1 or 2 inches before it pluged in to the GPCM right at the harness mount hope this helps
