Yes, they are laying on a shelf. They were removed from an early '99. Low miles too but it is an open rearend. Not LS.

Neal, I'll contact you later this fall/early winter, if I decide to do it. If you still have them, we'll talk. Thanks.

That's how I did it when I swapped the dually axle out for the SRW axle.

And yes, PB Blaster and a impact would make it go a lot faster...
I'm gonna take the axle with it but the springs aren't in as near of good shape as mine. Looks like an easy enough job though. My only concerns are the shape of the axle itself and the gears. I may take it to a guy before pulling my DD apart to have him inspect it all since I don't know just a whole lot about diffs.
And I've got a fresh can o PB blaster on standby. I'm on hour 36 of a 48 hour shift but when I get home I reckon I'll start soakin the u bolts.
Also, where is the easiest place to take the brake lines loose?

You might want to get new u-bolts. I've heard that once you break them loose they won't stay torqued very well. I could be wrong though...

When we did mine we left the axle hard lines attached, just unhooked it at the T on the rear axle.
