'91 E-350 ECM PROBLEMS
I have a 91 camper with a E350, 5.8L CA emission equipped. The ecm went out and I'm have a devil of a time finding one. Apparently, this particular part changed in '92, and I think they don't manufacture them any more.
The part # is F2TF-12A650-NA
any suggestions?
Meanwhile, my RV is stranded in Lynn, Mass.

It's always a good idea to check for stored codes before tossing on parts. A few easy checks would help narrow down the root cause. A frequent failure item is the PIP sensor in the distributor. It's a hall-effect sensor that triggers the coil to fire via the ICM. The ICM is controlled by the computer (PCM/ECM) but can function on it's own.
Before spending too much time and money I suggest to invest in a few tools such as a fuel pressure gauge and spark tester. In lieu of the spark tester you could pull a sparkplug out and use it. That way you can verify if you have the proper fuel pressure and spark.
If those items have already been done the other option here is to use a PCM from a similarly equipped vehicle. It would help to know what the EEC Program code is. The Ford part number you listed helps, but knowing both codes may help track one down. As noted you could use a PCM from a similar vehicle, i.e. same engine and transmission but not necessarily CA equipped or from an F-series. As long as you do not use an incorrect engine/transmission calibrated PCM you could use a different model year too.
