I got my first vehicle when I was 17. A 1977 Ford F-150 300 6cyl, 2wd 3 speed manual on the column. I paid $300.01 for it. Yes I paid the penny, the previous owner was an odd dude. The truck is actually still at my dads as a parts truck I guess. I pulled the 300 out of it to throw in my 1977 F-150 4x4 thats in my signature. My 351m crapped out and I wanted to get it going cheap. Well the motor mount perches are in a different area for the V8 vs I6 and I wasn't going to put a bunch of effort into installing an engine I didn't really want in the first place so I dropped a 460 in it instead. But that pretty much killed my first vehicle. I last drove it in 2006.
And I do have to say, I love 3 on the tree. I wish my Fairlane was 3 on the tree!

Edit.
And in the year and a half that I had a license but before I got this truck I drove my dads truck. A 1979 F-250 full time 4x4 with a 429. My dad still has it, what a beast. I think that truck is what makes me love the 73-79 trucks.

Yep. 1978 F150 4x4, paid $100 for it to my dad, who bought it new in 1978. I've had it since 1987 (16 yrs. old) which was daily driven until 1997, and it currently is parked out in the backyard waiting for a resto someday.

yep,the 77 in my sig.is was my first vehicle.I bought it at age 16 and am now almost 33.
It was my DD untill about 2000 when I bought my first new truck. After about 3 years of I figured out I would rather drive my old beast. Still my DD to this day.
here are a coupe pics of it in its early days.

in this pic I had put a flat bed on it and wheels and tires. Circa 1995

In '88 I got a '79 F-100 with a 300 in it, and it got me through high school. I've had just about everything else since then, and have finally come back to where I started ...except now I have a '74 F-250 4x4, and it's a keeper.

Yep my truck was my first vehicle back in 1988. After graduation in 90 I gave it back to my dad, then got it back from him around 99 to be my project truck.

With some help from my dad I bought this 79 F-150 brand new from Ford when I was 17, just a few months away from being 18.

By the time I was 19 it looked like this, ran a stop sign being a stupid kid and totaled it. Since this truck they have been in my blood.

Im 15, and I just bought (in march 14, 2010) my FIRST vehicle, It is my 78 F150 4x4, and i bought it for $850, and ive been converting it from a beat up, N***** rigged, Mud truck, and making it into a weekend warrior and my daily driver to school, I will be a Junior this year, and everyone thinks im dumb for buying a 32 year old truck, But i know it will last for 70 years more!

Here it is the day i bought it in the guys yard...

and here it is today in my driveway!
