Will the 6.2L be available in the regular half ton then? I was a bit confused by the first heading and the listing of the 6.2l below.

It shows it as available it the Lariet and Platinum trucks. No FX4 though. Thats to bad.

By the looks of it the 6.2 is only going in the Harley-Davidson, SVT Raptor, Platinum, and Lariat which stinks because I want a FX4. Also says the 5.0 is replacing the 4.6 which is ok but with a tow rating of 9800lbs. I never thought I would but i'm really interested in the 3.5 EcoBoost. The torque range on the Taurus is amazing. I think it will do great towing.

I agree 100% and I think the 3.7L is going to impress everyone mated tot he six speed and the correct gear set. Since I don't tow, I may actually go that route if it's available in an XLT 4x4 Scab. If not, then 5.0 it shall be.

I think only 4x2 XLT will be able to get the 3.7. At least in the SuperCrew, not sure about Scab.

Well without knowing the power numbers yet for the 3.5 EB from Ford I really don't know where to stand on this engine. If the numbers are good which I think they will be, it should be a great motor for the FX4.

It IS coming and we've known that for quite a while, but with its suspension desgined for jumping dunes, not really made for handling loads or steep pin weight.

And the EB may have a 200 lbs weight advantage which helps with the ol payload sticker. May have went with EB anyway.... "May"

Just not sure I can make a Lariat look as good as a Black FX4. (IMHO) Woudl have to replace all the woodgran trim inside

I wonder what aftermarket exhaust would sound like on an eco boost?

I have to agree. I would kill for a 3.7 in a Ranger. This engine is going to make Gms 4.3 look like the relic it is and I can say that because I own one. No doubt Ford has taken a step in the right direction and I for one and glad to see the 5.4 go. The 5 liter is really impressive in the Mustangs and those guys beat the snot out of them. I have no doubt it will be a reliable engine long term.

I am a bit iffy on the TT3.5 and Ford has their work cut out for them to convince those of us that it will hold up long term. Its going to have some good numbers in power and FE but truck buyers are a fickled bunch. Its hard to change our minds over night but I have a lot of confidence in the Ford engineers at the same time. Just not sure I want to be the guinea pig.

I agree with you to some extent there. I really believe that engine will fit a LOT of needs with a lot of people, however. Especially if it is as fuel efficient as they say it will be. Let's not forget the F150 is still the best selling vehicle, not just truck...(maybe it lost #1 to the Camry?, not 100% sure).

I guess my point is that there are alot of people like myself who use it as their daily driver to goto work. It's used as a "truck" on the weekends or to do the occasional joe-homeowner weekend warrior project on the house. My truck is also the "nice" vehicle in the household, so it's taken on road trips quite a bit simply because its 10x better than the wife's '99 Civic...GO LARIAT!

I think the Ecoboost will be a solid proven motor by early 2011, even though it will only be a few years old at that point.

3 cheers for Ford for bringing some engines with power and efficiency. Hopefully we'll be approaching mid-20's highway numbers very soon. I'm so sick of my '06 getting 16mpg highway...darn 4spd automatic.

All 3 engines are very future-like in design/power/efficiency. A great job again by Ford's people. I see the 5.0 has the oil filter in a very accessible location. Smart.
