1987 Motor swap

1987 Motor swap
I found a 87 F150 with the 351 V8 on for sale, but the motor is blown. I looked in the 87 section and couldn't find the answers I was looking for.
1. The motor that is in there is carb'd. Were 87's carb'd motors?
2. I don't want to do anything crazy like having to change motor mounts or anything, so is another 351 the only thing that can go in there? Or would a 5.0 fit without having to remount and reweld everything?
3. If the 5.0 fits in there without having to change the motor mounts, will it fith the transmission?
4. If the truck was originally a carb'd motor and I find a motor with fuel injection and brain I assume all the wiring has to be swapped over as well.
Thanks,

I had an '88 and it was FI 351W. I didn't think the ycam carb'd then.
If you have a 351 Windsor it will fit anywhere a 302 (5.0) will. They are both small blocks. If you find a 351 Cleveland it is a big block and will require some modification but will still fit into a '87 truck.
Hope this helps.

If the truck is carbed now that you are putting a 302 in then you could stay with the carb just find a low mile 302 and put a intake and carb on it. There will be some small things that will have to be done but (to me) it is easier to convert from FI to a carb. Thats what I did on my 56 and love it. Less wiring.
