A T98 four speed will bolt up but it has to be 64 and older. Bell housing mounting pattern and depth changed for 65 and carried all the way to 96 with some minor input shaft base diameter changes.

You can mount a T45 using one of John Mummerts bell housings and a mid 80s trans from a 6 cyl mustang..

The bellhousing used w/3 on the tree is different than used w/a T-98 4 speed, which btw is 1964 and older, since it wasn't used after 1964.

B8C7505B .. 3 on the tree bellhousing / 1958/64 F100/250 223.

B8Y7505B = T-98 4 speed bellhousing / 1958/64 F100/600 223 / 1961/64 F100/600 262.

Where would be a good place to check for a T98 and the correct bell housing?

Bill,

I have swapped three to four the pattern is the same. I did not know there was two separate bells. for manual transmissions. See even i can learn something new.
