6V Diehard

For those of us who are 6V purists, what will we do when they stop making 6v batteries for our trucks. I figure the goverement will ban them any day now. Are there any tricks to using a 12v battery other then a full system conversion. I was thinking about using a HUGE resistor and putting it under the seat. Could warm my nuts in the winter.

With as much crap as I've gone through to keep my 49 a 6 volt and my dad's 50 ford car a 6 volt, they better not!!! All those golf carts that run off 6 volt batteries might save you someday. In the meantime, Tractor Supply has a couple (even though the poor kids working there probably won't realize it if you call and ask).

Mountaindoc is right. They are still building fork lifts, electric pallet jacks, ggolf carts, etc., etc. by the thousands every day that take 6V batteries. They won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

a lot of Farm tractors are 6 volt, especially the older ones. I'll be bopping into Fleet Farm to get a 6v tractor battery for about $40 in the near future i hope.

Battery

I was in Tractor supply this weekend. They have 2 choices. One is for a tractor and will fit the truck for $57. The other one is for a german submarine, about 3 feet long.

Many new RV;s still have two 6 volt "house battery's" but they are bigger and heaver than the auto type 6 volt but wouldn't think they will stop 6 volt production.

My local Tractor Supply has the same pricing. I bought one there a couple of years ago.

I just got my 6v interstate battery from a local supplier about a month ago. I will go look up the number when I get a chance.
