79F350,
most desert trucks don't run tailgate's do to the "race-look". But function also follows form, usually it's easier to access gear like spare tires or jacks or the cooler! I also did not like my bed and tailgate rattleing, so pulling of the 'gate and adding bed side support bars keeps the noise level down, and stiffens up the bedsides to keep them from sagging inboard. Rear visibility is also improved.

Hey hippy jr you might want to go grab a august issue of Petersons 4wheel &offroad. your truck is on page 27 bottom right hand corner. Looks like they snapped the pic at a ford show.

Hauler,

you must have had some subconcisous influence on me and have become my internet truck mentor...Originally i owned a highboy, but now ive got a hot 2wd which will eventually get lifted, and a stupid duty. What a sweet sickness to have! (this is a dealer shot, the truck will be actually to me friday morning.)

Sir,

4x stayed in the in family. 2x was purchased from Bullitt390 here on this forum, and it runs like a raped ape.

super duty - 2008 FX4 23k on the clock - 5.4 - 3.73's. Its going to be my DD and only see occassional towing, so Im hoping to get away with the 5.4 and 3.73's, but i may be regearing it to 4.10s or 4.30s.

wow, dig that 2x! Those stealeis happen to be one of my favorite stock wheels. They look cool with either stock tires or offroad-style meats. Whats under the hood?
