New Ford Truck

Ok I am new here, and just got my New 1955 ford truck delivered yesterday. I have driven Fords my whole life, and when I saw this truck I couldn't get it out of my mind, so I bought it. It has 35000 miles on it, but needs lots of work. It has been stored in a warehouse for the last 25-30 years and only took about 2.5 hours to get it running so it would pull itself on a trailer for the trip home. It is a little bigger than most I see on this site. It is a T800(F800 w/twin screw) Here are a couple links to pics of it.

Now that's a truck! Welcome to FTE. I have a couple bigger trucks to move myself, may I ask how much the cost was to transport with the drop-deck?

Had it moved from Central City CO, to Oklahoma City OK, about 665 miles and it cost 1495. More than I paid for the truck!! The hood has been changed, and has the wrong badges on it, so if anyone has a set for a 1955 F800 please ler me know. Thanks

Shop around, I could have gotten it done way cheaper, if I had the time to wait, but because I had to get it moved quickly I ended up going through a freight broker.

Very cool truck! Certainly heavy duty! Was it an oilfield truck?

Wow! That's one of the biggest here on the board. It looks like it has a ton of potential. What are your plans for it?

Now we are talking

What a score= looks like some major options, like i wish I had 10 lug
buds on mine. Although mine is a 56 and yellow too, its somewhere in
my gallery. Very nice fenders Id straighten them out in a heartbeat.
I dont know if you got power steering but I got an extra bracket and
pump that mounts under the compressor, and I put an intake manifold
from a 368 so I have a 4bbl Holley runs better than the teapot.

The truck had been used for mine rescues since 1967, lowering a basket down old mine shafts when people fell in them. Prior to that it was owned by northwestern engineering in south dakota. Now it will have a life of hauling some of my toys to shows, when it is back up it shape. One thought is to stretch it out about 3 ft and extend the cab back, but have not decided for sure on it.
Fifty two, are you interested in selling the hood badges?
Big Job, would like to see pics of the power steering set up, and will have to start looking for a different intake.

Sam - Tell me about these 10 lug Budds, please. When okcpainter first posted about this truck over on the YT site, I commented (before seeing the pics of the truck) that it would have either Daytons or the 8 lug x 10" pattern Budds. My reading of the Chassis Manual says the 10 lug x 11.25" pattern wasn't intro'd until '56. Were the 10 lugs actually intro'd before '56, or was the truck maybe converted? Thanks. Stu

This truck was special ordered from Ford, don't know if the wheels were part of that , It has a 5 speed and 3 speed trans and air brakes. Truck weighs around 20000 as it sits(Guess) and gvw is 42000.
