Ok, so get the needle to "R" and then slam the shifter into "Race gear"? Off to give it a shot now... should I just slam it into "R" or push the brake in a little first? Do I wait until I top out or right before redline? Is this "Race gear" like an over-drive for the over-drive? Screw it, I'll figure it out. 130MPH here I come!!!!
You start in "L" for Launch, slam it to "D" for Drag, then "R" for Race.
Quick question. I'm getting X-codes and mod Cs in May. does anyone who has done this swap have any recommendations for shocks?
Cheers,
Nate
Everyone I've seen that went with Bilstein 5100's (including myself) has been very happy with them. Mine have seen some serious abuse (such as airtime) and still going strong.

You guys are doing it all wrong...
First, shift vigorously between R and 2, this tells the transmission you wish to 'race launch 2 Fast 2 Furious'. Put the shifter in D for 'drag', then power brake the launch while shifting in R for 'race'. Then slam the shifter in D again while releasing the brakes and hurtling your racetruck forwards. Once the speedo needle has reached R, press the OD button to engage the 'Oh Duh', I'm in an Excursion not a racecar system which will rapidly decreased your vehicle speed while keeping the RPM's up to ensure you don't shockload the valvetrain and major thrust side of the cylinder walls from the massive deceleration.
About 4.5 hours West of me John, but only a little North detour from the Turnpike. We will be transiting that area a few times over the next year I'm sure, son will be starting at Ohio State in the Fall with a few trips out that way before then.
Thanks for the replies guys, will look at getting some 5100's at the same time as the new springs.
I assume my 12 year old stock springs don't have much life left in them
Keep 'em coming Michael lol
Ok Nate, then I recommend you measure the stance now may not need to change springs since your lightening up the load with all those limited useless parts your tossing
I tried to run 8K tow as a daily and couldn't stand it! It's a great tow tune, hauled 12K with it and my 6.0 almost seemed like it was hungry for more weight.
I had to go back to SRL+ and
Btw, what's your strategy and what are you averaging?
I run Atlas 40 on the FICM. Hard to tell my average right now as I typically rung the 8kplus Tow (where I get about 14mpg mixed driving).

Yeah, if ya head this way holla!! We are still waiting for one of the big compressor stations to start, but we are going to be doing some repairs etc. until that's ready.
It will be kind of slow for a while, but I'll be glad to be back to work though I had fun fishing and seeing friends, family.

He'll, I'm not a fisherman and I'd rather spend my day fishing rather than going to work!
