I have been on the road the past few days for work... So the Ex was sitting at home, feeling no love at all. I was up in Kennewick, Wash., for their annual boat races and air show. I think I counted a half dozen or more Excursions on my 5.5 hour return trip from there on Sunday.
On a bright side note, the EGR valve cleaning seems to have taken care of the 132B code I was getting.
About half the excursions I see the side chrome trim is missing on the doors. Are they known to fall off or do people take them off?
No, it was never there. As far as i know only select Ex's got the chrome. i believe all '02 limiteds and i think some high end monochrome limiteds in the years after. otherwise no 00-01 or eddie bauer got the chrome trim.

So on the door it was never there to begin with? It has the indent of where it goes but never put on?

I'm aware of what your talking about, yes there is an indent with some lines. XLT trim that does not run over the wheel wells also has the same indent because the door trim is the same between the two just painted different colors.
My '00 limited did not have the trim, but my '02 does, for some reason i think it was a '02 only on all limiteds and only on the high end monochrome 04-05's.
Gave the Ex a good washin'. Anyone out there have a good product recommendation or method for removing those stains and gunk that appears to be baked onto my rims? Simple Green gave it a go, but it still remains.
