Being mechanically challenged, I put off the whole zerk fitting front wheel bearing procedure. Took 45 strokes per side and none of the grease squeezed out? Changed front diff oil. WTH, $24 a quart for Royal Purple? Next up is the transfer case and A/C. What a weekend...

Why tomorrow when you can have them now?

It took a few hours but MAN OH MAN was it worth it!

Could not have done this without the trusty Craftsman Pressure washer:

It even eats all the grime that gets sets on the tires themselves, the raised white lettering looks awesome after a treatment or two....

After letting the Z2 cure for almost 2 hours, I got after it with the buffer I bought and needless to say it paid for itself relatively quickly! Since it was dark out, I stopped by a wel lighted Shell gas station not too far away from the house and took a few pics:

If I could sleep next to my truck right now, I would....

She looks better and runs better than she did, brand new, Monday August 27th, 2001. 11 years ago tomorrow...

She'll receive several more coats of wax once I get some more Zaino ordered.

To think, that was only one pass since I ran out of Zaino. I hate to see what would happen if I had the whole kit with me (Z2, Z5, Z6).

Matter of fact, as soon as I get paid, I'm ordering some...

I renew my alternator and changed my valve covers.
After all everything was covered with oil grease and dirty fingerprints , so I decide to clean the whole engine bay.

I use klasse all-in-one. Awesome synthetic stuff that lasts a long time, even with the heat here. I've been using it for years, even on an old beater and the paint stays in awesome shape. Only use it once or twice a year.

Took a couple of hours but installed the rear hellwig. Would have been alot quicker but trying to decipher their crappy instructions I finally took the laptop out to the garage to look at the installation link someone else had posted. They have modified the installation since the link was originally posted, but the pictures helped out. Everything made sense after the fact but could have been explained better. Example, instructions left out the fact that you need to loosen up the brake lines so you can remove and install the new U-bolts to the lower shock mount. But all is now good. Since I am not Mr. Mechanic, I was thinking about possibly posting a thread "Hellwig install for beginners" but since most people seem to not have an issue installing maybe it is not needed. Let me know if some of you want or think this would be helpful. If wanted, I could post since it is still fresh in my mind.

Good luck on the projects

Sylvania SilverStar Ultra's #9007 are what I use, remember to change both and keep the good old one for a spare.
