Hey ericmmcv. You can check ebay. I have gotten a lot of my stuff off of there. (headlights, Taillights, etc.) And a lot of the places are out your way so you should get them pretty quick.

 

I took the excursion to work today - It saddens me not to be able to take the bike anymore, 45 in jersey this morning its a lil cold on two wheels for me. when I got in my driveway from the 22 mile trip home I smelt the familiar scent of locked up caliper. Sure enough my rear passenger side was smoking hot. This caliper is newer and has only about 15,000 miles on it and came with a lifetime warrenty from Autozone. So brought the caliper in and was handed a new one with no questions asked. Fair enough. The brake fluid was pretty dirty so I ended up draining it all. It is getting to that point of darkness around 7:00 P.M - bummer.

 

Yeah sucks riding the bike in the cold. Glad you were able to get the new caliper.

 

Replaced alternator. I bought a 'new' NAPA alternator shortly after buying the X in '08 and have put nearly 100k on it since then. I guess that ain't tooooo bad... Took old alt and receipt into NAPA and walk out with new alt - too easy!

Also, 'fixed' battery cable ends. You ever have ends that 'touch' and don't allow you to tighten them down on batt post anymore? I removed the bolt and 'shaved' some of the middle part that was touching with a razor knife, then replaced the bolt with a new 'battery bolt' from autoparts. Now, cables are TIGHT on the posts and nuts are no longer stripped out from 270k miles of use and abuse!!

I bought the girl a new set of batteries. If she wasn't all charged up before, she is now. I got her 2 AutoCraft Golds one to compliment the other. I originally was going for the Optima RedTop but the battery sizes were so far off that they could not get them to seat in the trays to my liking. They thought that they rigged them good enough to pass and I said that is not happening on my truck. So came an exchange and a new purchase. They could not do the purchase straight from the store because their discount was not enough. I had got an on-line code, BATX, for 25% off, so I had to break out the EVO and do it from the phone. The 25% off was the main reason that I was going for the Optima's in the first place because they were not so bad with 25% off of $189.00. Anyways I spent a whole lot longer at the Advance Auto Parts store than I wanted to, but she has a new set of batteries all set for our brisk winters here in Florida...

 

My 2011 rear bumper will be here tomorrow.

Cool. With these plummeting gas prices we can again fill up cheaper than we can buy a pair of batteries. (Enjoy it while it lasts.....)
