Used the "hacking method" to get the factory keyless entry code. I guess now I will spend the rest of the day putting the dash back together... LOL!!!

Started having idle problems for the first time two days ago. Already knew what that would be.

Yesterday was good and today was a constant battle with idle. Lots of stalling. Went to a ford dealer, $250 for a new aic. No way that was gonna happen. Napa, $190. I ended up having to spend $8 for carb cleaner, cuz we're on holiday and mine is at home. Get to inlaws and look at how I'm gonna tackle removing aic.

I ended up spending about 45 min, start to finish, and took off the whole throttle body assembly to get at the aic. Way easier to get at it and no dropped bolts or wrecked gaskets. In fact the gasket from throttle body to intake was a nice rubber one that goes in a good size groove and is hard to screw up. Runs nice again and can continue holidays.

Have a 2000 or 2001? I found out early they didn't have the code on a sticker so I went straight for the 'hack' method.

I used your post for the list and instructions. Unfortunately, I had already removed the radio, dash, glove box, ash tray assembly and cover just above the pedals.... Your post helped me greatly. Thanks!

BTW, it is a 2000 V10. We are enjoying it greatly.

Now if I can just figure out how to get my hands on some Landyot bars.....

Don't thank me, thank the guys that figured it out...I just consolidated the posts into one to make it easier to find. One had the string but no instructions, another had the instructions but no string, another had the breakdown of the differences in the programming between '00 - '01 and the '02 - '05 models.

Hi AlaskanEx,

Nice looking Excursion, though I'd be hard-pressed to brag about my off-roading for simply parking on the curb.

Kuda Mount

Installed a Kuda mount for my GPS:

Might need to flip the Metra box over to be able to see the stereo face:

...now to figure out how to hide the power cable. Might just run it through the box in the Metra mount...hopefully the traffic antenna will still pick up the updates.

And per UPS my F650 dash is "out for delivery"...feels like Christmas Morning!!!
