It also flows a higher volume of air compared to the stock wheel.
Holy ping pong ball! I wish I could help but I have never heard that before...my only thought is a bad bearing or hub. Wow.
So, while Coop and I were greasing the hub, we noticed this strange bouncing ball noise coming from the front passenger hub. Any thoughts on what this could be from? There is no resistance or drag coming from the hub... Thanks for the help!

Did you try removing the 4x4 locking hub and see if the noise goes away? I had a rattle for while and it turned out to be the 4x4 hub. Even though everything still functioned correctly. I took it apart but didn't see anything on a quick look. I swapped and extra hub on and I'm de-greasing the original and I'll give the parts a closer look...maybe this week.

We did not, I was strapped for time and with the noise seemingly coming from further back in the wheel hub, we did not touch the locking hub at all.
The really weird part is that the sound always seemed to be coming from about the same place, meaning that the sound did not travel around the hub while spinning

I fyou put too much grease in, it could be spitting out through the rear seal of the hub. After about 100 miles, look inside the rotor, if theres a ton of grease, or any for that matter, its coming out the seal.

Quick update and thought, (I knew I should have started my own thread for this...) anyways, I talked with a local off road shop, and without seeing it, he thinks it could be something with the shift on the fly 4x4 not engaging or disengaging all the way. This hypothesis should be fairly easy to test, as I will engage the hubs and see if the sound is still there.
It at least gives me another direction to try this afternoon.

Good luck, let us know what you find.
