Since mine is a 2003, there are many differences between our stickers.
As for the cut, I have looked through all my photos of the underside of the Ex, but can't see anything. I gess I will just have to climb under there once my foot allows me too...

that kinda clean hole is the upper sway bar mounting point in the picture so look behind that.
I was pretty darn sure that was the split for used to mate different front ends of frames with different rear sections? 4x4 front with X/regular cab/extended cab/4 door rear and whatnots.

Yes, the front frame rails are common with super duty. This helps with cost. For example pick ups have common front and rear rails, the middle is changed for wheel base and cab/box configuration.
