Towed from Los Angeles to Kingman with 8 of us

To see the Grand Canyon

The Sherpa got a real workout towing through the Arizona desert at 100 degrees but with the new 6.0 trans cooler I only saw a trans temp high of 206 and that was for a very short while.

I can't believe ford painted it lol. Did I say wow! I wouldn't take $60k for it today. Man I wish we had an EX club here, so I could show it off to people that understand and love Excursions. I guess all I can do is listen to stupid things like is that a new truck by ford or is it for sale. Did I say wow? Wow, I don't even want to drive it tonight to dinner but I am. Even wife said wow it looks better than our Benz the first day we got that, I agreed. Wow, I am one happy owner! I owe this all to Andy, if it wasn't for his nasty roof lol, I would not have thought of doing this real detail today. So, thank you Andy for your post!
I suppose this is RIGHT OUT for your baby! Yeah, I probably smudged the roof paint and maybe even a rub mark on my crappy hood paint.

The Ex is running good and strong, if still a little more thirsty that I would like...

But for all of you out there in Jersey land, might be worth taking note of this, especially if you happen to roll a little coal... Just a friendly heads up.

Yeah its sad. The few will ruin it for the many. Wont be long before the diesel trucks will be subject to emission testing also, and the luxury we have of not needing to wait in inspection lines will be gone.

Had to drag a friend off the beach by his tail after a mechanical failure. This truck is a beast, no problem pulling him out of the hole he dug and then up the through the truck entrance in the dunes. That area is usually really soft too because its a high traffic area and people tend to not air down enough.

After getting his truck back to asphalt, I turned around and back out on the beach only to haul out a Dodge that got stuck running 34 psi, 16-18 is recommended, 14 works really well.

Cooling system inspection, replace fan clutch, possibly the water pump as well. Looked down today and saw the temp gauge about a needle from the red. Sat on the shoulder with the heater on blast to cool it off in 104* AOT. I probably weigh 7 pounds less from water loss through sweat.

Now to find out where the hell all the coolant disappeared to... Hasn't been puffing out the pipe, running funky, nor leaking on the ground. Joy.

Last year was the motor and drive line, this year its the interior and suspension.

This photo shows new traction bars and the addition of a rear Hellwig sway bar. My 2001 did not come with rear sway control and rocked in the wind. This should help.

Adding stabilizer shock to front steering arm.....if it works I'll hard weld a permanent mount. 2wd front end was always a bit shaky on any kind of rough surface. Hoping this will settle it down.
